Mabel Virginia Anna Bent (1847 – 1929)

Mabel Virginia Anna Bent (1847 – 1929) was an explorer, excavator, author, and photographer. Her and her husband J. Theodore Bent, who was a British Archaeologist, traveled the world for two decades researching in regions such as the Eastern Mediterranean, Asia Minor, and Africa. In 1908 she wrote the book Anglo-Saxons from Palestine; or, the imperial mystery of the lost tribes in which she expresses how she came to understand the Anglo-Israel truth by reading a speech by Richard of Bordeaux, Prince of Wales, and how he referred to the English people as being of Israelite heritage.
