Rev. Hibbert Newton D. D. (1817 – 1892) was a minister and poet. Newton held the title of the vicar of St. Michael’s, Borough Southwick. He was educated at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, where he earned his doctorate. He several books on poetry, as well as the book Israel Discovered in Anglo-Saxon, Protestant Kindred Nations in 1874.
